Development of Human Factory Part 2

Human Factory Part 3

This is the development of the theme so far. The final designs is being created at this moment of time however it will take sometime to complete, there is a total of three creations will be shown. Here is all the designs so far.

This is the same as the etching however it is to experiment by only draw with watercolour paint to illustrate the actual texture. I have to quickly rush the design because I was wasting time to get the exact detail that can be achieved with the medium. The positive side with the paint draw side is I can always expand the use of it to either use oil paint or acrylic paint all in one painting.

The painting is of one of the prints where I applied watercolour paint to work along side with the print. They both worked really well together if only I did not apply any paint on the industrial side of the landscape.

The random ink drawing is more focus on the mining industry of a  section I drawn when I went down a actual mine in the Big Pit. The purpose the design is to express people huddling together away from cable wire that was the biggest killer at the time.

This is similar to another design I made however I added a three different perspectives to create a post-apocalyptic setting of the surface has turned into a wasteland and humanity has to live underground. It all started out with heavy amounts of charcoal but then a added chalk to blend with the charcoal.
The outcome of the design when applying with chalk mixed with the charcoal. In my mind the chalk seems to kill the design because I find monochrome add greater detail then adding colour. There is going to be some updates with the final piece, if I get round to it, in the mean time stay tuned.

Development of Human Factory

 Human Factory Part Two

After awhile of developing the designs from the sketches on the other blog post. I started creating designs in different formats that explore the Human Factory the theme of over-population, it may link to over-conception as well. Here is some of the designs have been made for a while

The etching is of mother-nature has turn into half a normal tree and half a mechanical tree of the changes of a piece of landscape though time. It was a very time consuming design by the amount of textures, patterns and designs have to be hand carved with a nail and compass

Outcome of the etching when printed. The page I have changed by applying small quantity of water to help with the print on watercolour paper. There are other prints however they are really light difficult to see on photographs, even with flash on.

The next design is a very unusual design on over-conception in a industrial theme. I combine the concept the industrial fish, it is on blog post The art of creating random crap. This time I thought of adding dead fish that have floating islands with a mechanical skull and factories built on top dropping bones into a ocean of bones. There was no exact plan with the design however it was to at the amount of food is consumed in our day lives and express it though imagery.

Outcome of a very rough charcoal drawing.

There is other works that are either not complete or they have a mistakes that need to be improved.

This concept is slightly left because after this photo was taken the other design was destroyed by adding too much oil pastel. The concept on the other hand is very interesting because it is a memorial to miners, similar to the memorial to solders. It also includes a form of a graveyard as well with left mining equipment that I have seen at the Big Pit.

This is the last part of the blog where I was etching on plastic to create images similar to the theme. The problem I have with the prints is the other one has lettering on the wrong side that is saying "Let it shine" however backwards when printed.

The design is similar to the memorial to miners but this was etched from a newspaper article that was an landscape full of flowers  saying "Let it shine" on the picture. In my mind the picture brought a very eerie feel that I found very interesting to develop into a print.

This is the outcome of the prints when printed. There is more to come very soon at the mean time stay tuned.

The Human Factory

The Human Factory

This new concept is combining a lot of work I have made so far on this blog but also my DA account combined. The topic looks at overpopulation in an industrial setting but looking at the effects it brings in communities, nations and civilizations. These are all the creations are made so far, more to come very soon peeps.

The sketch is a influence from Santiago Caruso that creates dark surrealism paintings. The way I have produced the drawing is to have three different perspective of having a large industrial landscape on the surface, mother-nature weeping as a tree and all life has to live underground because the surface is considered unsafe.

This is a very interesting drawing that only shows two different perspectives of a piece of landscape being changed. The way I have imagined it was one section to have long grass, trees and animals that mother-nature worked very hard on get's completely changed with the increase of the human population. It is good example of the theme however a few changes from only having mother-natures face in the clouds face palming without wearing gas mask or turn her into a mechanical tree.

The drawing is from piece called "The Industrial Fish" where I built a industrial landscape on a fish while it is still swimming in the sea. To change the concept I thought of a factory made out of skeleton head that has a mechanical brain attached to a factory. Which is pumping out skeletons of animals on a conveyor belt dropping underground creating an ocean of bones. To expand the design further I had an idea of having more structures with their own floating islands that is being held by large dead fish with cities on them.

Human Furniture Final

Human Furniture

A non complete photo of the large complete painting

I am back from the art exhibition. Sadly I was not able to show my large scale painting in the event because it will not fit any of  the rooms, should have made a smaller version with a canvas or wooden board. The idea was to bend the whole paper behind wooden boards to create a 3D effect in the middle moving forward and the rest as background.  Instead I show cased some of my prints in the exhibition, some art on the other Human Furniture page.  Here is some of the good once I have, before I ruined a few. Anyway Stay tuned peeps.

Furniture part 2

Human Furniture Part 2

I have been creating a large scale mix media piece for a exhibition happening soon on Human Furniture. The way it is going to be produced is by adding all different mediums, textures and methods from the small scale designs to the main. The size of the design is 3 meters in width and 2 meters in length.

Up close photo on one section where I applied thick amount of red paint and scratched with a pallet knife on newspaper.

While I was making the design I moved to printmaking of the top part of the pool table and produce a series of prints.

There may be photos showing more of my creations being displayed in the exhibition, these are more but I am keeping them hidden. In the mean time stay tuned peeps.

Furniture

Human Furniture

When I was producing work around clubs I had a very unusual idea on people and furniture. At first I was thinking of adding furniture to create people, which did not seem interesting. However after drawing out the designs another thought came to me. The story started from. "When a person sits on the same chair. constantly playing pool etc. When the individual passes away, everyone will remember the piece of furniture where the person sat.". From there I developed the theme called "Human Furniture". These are all the designs that were made to create the theme.

Thick layer painting with acrylic paint with a pallet knife, whole design is only drawn with the tool and at times paint brush to fix sections.

Line drawing with only charcoal.
Ink based drawing with wax rubbing, not finished yet.

Up close photo on the contrast between ink and oil pastels.

And wax rubbing with water colour paint.

These are all the large scale work being produced around the theme on human furniture. All these ideas have all been generated in my sketch book to produce different effects. There will be more to come until then stay tuned.

Clubs

Surreal Clubs

I'm back from a long break. I have been experimenting art genres on illusion surrealism that relates to con-clubs and other clubs in today's society. The artwork explores the decline of people attending the clubs in this century from less active members, lack of entertainment, some clubs are derelict and not suitable for younger generation. In this day in age wine and dinning, actual bands playing and a large range of entertainment are the fashionable trend in clubs. These are all the designs that were produced last two weeks, there is a lot more to come but they are unfinished. At the mean time stay tuned.

A very late night idea where I had an idea of having "Dancing pool balls with limbs, hats and wigs, dancing on a river of alcohol on a pool table going down to a mouth that has a stage.

As I listen to a lot of music in the metal genre I had a unusual idea of making a beer tree, have no idea why, just thought it was interesting.

I combined the beer tree on a sheep skull to work along side printmaking.

At this section I decided to throw all drawings together without any thought. It was mistake by my part however for some strange reason it looks fascinating.

After producing artwork around the theme I expanded on printmaking for a short amount of time, mostly to practice how to produce refresh print making. These are all the designs were made

Human disfigure part 2

Human Disfigure

After awhile of painting the large scale design in monochrome, as I find colour too much of a distraction and subjective.  I decided to use nature with the background. Reason is it blends very well with the dark contrast and combines with the theme. I also extended the middle with more people to make them more up close to create a outline of the person and add movement. Still needs more improvements as it is very dark painting but enjoy and stay tuned.  #surrealism #art
